The Opening Story
The nominations for the sixth annual British Restaurant Awards were announced in July 2024.
The shortlist brought together leading chefs, rising culinary talent, acclaimed restaurants, hospitality teams and regional favourites from across the United Kingdom.
The awards continued their mission to provide members of the public with an opportunity to recognise the restaurants, chefs and culinary experiences they valued most.
The Best New Restaurant shortlist featured Arlington, Psycho Sandbar, Skof, Josephine, Ladurée, Kioku by Endo at The OWO, Riverine Rabbit, Hansom, Akira Back, RT Café Grill, Koyn Thai and The Lightship at Haslar Marina.
The Best Chef shortlist included Gordon Ramsay, Clare Smyth, Brett Graham, Claude Bosi, Adejoké Bakare, Siddharth Ahuja, Ainsley Harriott, Aldo Zilli, Tomos Parry, Dan Cox, Ayo Adeyemi and Isaac McHale.
About the Nomination Process
The British Restaurant Awards provide members of the public with an opportunity to nominate and vote for their favourite restaurants, chefs and culinary experiences throughout the United Kingdom.
The restaurants, chefs and hospitality businesses receiving the strongest nomination support progressed to the official 2024 shortlist and public voting stage.
Voting opened following the shortlist announcement and continued until 26 August 2024.
The final winners were announced at the sixth annual British Restaurant Awards at the Crown London Hotel on 28 August 2024.
